Sustainable fashion and community building come together in a fun and festive celebration of second-hand shopping.
The event was organized by the local non-profit organization, Lincoln Thrift Store, in collaboration with Duffy’s Tavern.
The Concept Behind Christmas in the Groove
Christmas in the Groove was a unique event that brought together vendors and customers in a festive atmosphere. The event was designed to promote sustainable fashion and reduce waste by encouraging people to shop second-hand. The organizers aimed to create a fun and engaging experience for attendees, with a focus on community building and social responsibility.

The Experience
For him, the night was all about sharing that music and all the cool things they’ve found over the years. “I think the record community, they can be really nerdy but they can also be really insightful too,” Munson said. “Each record tells a story, and each vendor has a story about where that record may have come from.” Munson said the average record sells for around $5, but rarer ones can reach up to $100 or more. There are four record stores across Lincoln, but Munson said many vendors also sell online. He’s hoping to put the event on quarterly at some other local music venues, to give them another chance to meet people face to face.
