The shows that took place at the Bournemouth Pavilion have been truly exceptional. The venues that host these events are not only a hub for entertainment but also a testament to the power of live performance. The shows that made up this successful run of productions included The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Chicago, with a staggering 149 cast members, musicians and production team members making these shows possible.
Success and Recognition
The nearly 30 performances between these shows received rave reviews and standing ovations. The opening night of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang featured a replica of the famous Chitty car from the Beaulieu National Motor Museum. The show was a huge success, with five sold-out performances of Chicago described as “the sexiest musical ever.” Chicago was a star-studded production, featuring well-known performers such as Janette Manrara, a Strictly Come Dancing and It Takes Two star, and Pop icon Sinitta, alongside Djalenga Scott.

According to Steve Turner, director of venues at BH Live, “We want to extend our thanks to everyone who made this run of exceptional shows a remarkable success. We are so grateful to the audiences who came along, filling the theatre with so much energy, enthusiasm, and unwavering support. This makes live theatre performance an amazing experience for everyone involved. Thanks must also go to our dedicated theatre staff and behind-the-scenes team – their hard work, experience, professionalism and commitment are the backbone of every performance. From front of house to backstage, we simply couldn’t do it without them. We also have to thank the phenomenal cast and crew of the touring productions – their talent, creativity and collaboration has inspired and captivated us night after night.
