Cypress Hill Bring Hip-Hop to the Royal Albert Hall with London Symphony Orchestra

A live performance that will be remembered for a long time is that of Cypress Hill, the hip-hop group, in collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) at the Royal Albert Hall in London last July. The performance featured the group performing their iconic 1993 album, “Black Sunday,” in a full live reimagining that saw the hip-hop group team up with the orchestra of over 70 members to deliver new takes on their classic songs. The show was a unique blend of music, with Cypress Hill’s signature hip-hop beats and the LSO’s orchestral arrangements, creating a truly unforgettable experience. The performance included new takes on classics such as “Insane In The Brain,” “Lick A Shot,” and “Legalize It,” as well as tracks from across their discography, including 20 songs in total. During the performance, the group even paid a joke made on The Simpsons back in 1996 a visit, where the legendary group made a cameo appearance in the show inviting the LSO to join them on stage while high. The joke was finally brought to life when Cypress Hill invited the LSO to join them on stage to perform a rendition of “I Ain’t Going Out Like That.”
The live performance and accompanying album was originally announced in February, with Cypress Hill co-founder B-Real stating that it was an “honour and a privilege” to perform at the Royal Albert Hall. The album and concert video featuring the performance will be released on June 6th via Mercury Studios.
