The first actor is a local boy who made good, Benjamin Peters. Peters was born and raised here in Main Street and went to our very own Main Street High School where he starred in many of the school’s theatrical productions. He then moved to New York City where he attended Juilliard before getting his big break on Broadway in the hit musical Jersey Boys. After that he moved to Hollywood, California where he has starred in over 25 movies including his recent smash hit “Spiderman: The Musical”.
Benjamin comes from a family of four brothers and three sisters, all with names beginning with B! His brother Bobby is also an actor, though not as successful as Ben. Bobby has starred on television but has never been able to break into film. His sister Bethany is a well known model who has appeared on the covers of many fashion magazines including her own spread in “Vogue”. The rest of Benjamin’s siblings are still living here in Main Street and are involved with the Performing Arts Center.
The second actor I would like to tell you about is Jessica Roberts. Roberts grew up in New York City where she attended the High

Looking at the acting careers of some of the stars in our upcoming show can be interesting and fun. In this blog post we will look at some of the acting careers of a few of the stars in our upcoming show.
I am sure you have heard of Meryl Streep before. You may remember her from many popular films such as “The Devil Wears Prada” and “kramer vs kramer”. But did you know that Meryl Streep is also an accomplished actor on stage as well? In fact, Ms. Streep won a Tony award for her performance in a play called “the seagull”. I think most people would agree that she deserves the title of America’s sweetheart.
Julia Roberts is another actress who has starred in many memorable films. She has starred in too many films to name here but some of my favorites are “Erin Brockovich” and “Pretty Woman”. Julia Roberts has said that she is currently taking time off from making movies so that she can spend more time with her children. I am sure we will see her again on the big screen soon enough!
Another talented actress is Sally Field. You may remember Ms. Field from classic television shows like “gidget” and “The Flying Nun”. But
It’s almost show time! We’re excited to announce that tickets are now on sale for our production of The Sound of Music, which will be on stage from March 6th through the 18th.
The Sound of Music is a classic story about a young woman who leaves her convent to become the nanny for seven children. The father, Captain von Trapp, is a strict disciplinarian who is still grieving the loss of his wife. Maria teaches the children how to sing and she eventually falls in love with their father. The family must flee their home when Nazi Germany invades Austria in 1938.
The role of Maria will be played by Jane Doe, who has recently appeared on Broadway in Cinderella and Anything Goes. She has also starred in numerous regional productions at major performing arts centers around the country, including leading roles as Maria (The Sound of Music), Eliza (My Fair Lady) and Belle (Beauty and the Beast).
Captain Georg von Trapp will be played by John Smith. Mr. Smith has appeared in more than fifteen plays in the past two years at Main Street Performing Arts Center, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Annie and Twelve Angry Men.
Our production also features two local actors who are making
The Main Street Performing Arts Center is proud to present the classic play, Our Town by Thornton Wilder. In the days leading up to the show, we will be publishing a series of interviews with some of the actors and actresses who are performing in the play.
The first actor we would like to introduce is Jessica Smith, who will be playing the role of Emily Webb. Jessica was born and raised right here in Dayton, Ohio. She has been acting since she was a child and has appeared in many local plays over her career. We sat down with her to learn more about her passion for acting, as well as her favorite roles that she has played over the years.
Hi Jessica! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with us today! To start off, what are some of your favorite plays that you have been in?
There are very few actors in the world who have not been in a play and there are even fewer that have not acted on stage. It is a common misconception that all actors have to be on stage at one time in their lives. Most of the time they will only be acting on stage during their childhood or early teenage years and they will spend the majority of their acting career acting off stage. This is because it is easier to get into character when you are not on stage.
Another misconception about acting on stage is that you must be able to sing and dance. The truth is that you do not have to be able to sing and dance, but it does help if you can. If you can dance, it makes your performance more believable because people can see you move around the stage and see how much energy you put into your performance. If you can sing, then it also makes your performance more believable because people can hear your voice as well as see your body language.
The last thing I want to talk about is the costumes that people wear when they act on stage. There are many different types of costumes including formal, casual, evening gowns, evening suits, cowboy outfits, sports uniforms and other dressy clothes. There are also several different styles of shoes including
