When the summer’s here, the street musicians come out too! There’s no better way to spend a sunny day than relaxing in a city square or park listening to some music. In many European cities there are musicians who perform regularly at one of the squares or parks. But you can also just stumble across them somewhere in the street while you’re walking around town. Let me show you where to see great street musicians in Europe.

“The street is my stage”, says the French trumpet player Yvan Talbot. He has been playing his instrument on the street for over 30 years and they know him in Paris, London, Montreal and New York.

In this blog I write about people like him. They are not just begging on the streets. They are giving something back to the people who walk by: music!

I am a musician myself and I love to watch them play. I often stop to listen for a while and then put some money in their box. But also when I don’t have time to stop, their music can make me smile or even hum along. Their music makes many people happy!
