Christina Perri’s new album, Head or Heart, is out today (April 1st) and to mark the occasion, the pop singer-songwriter has recorded a cover of The Beatles’ “Yesterday.”

In an interview with Billboard , Perri reveals that she hasn’t written any songs about former fiance Paul Costabile, whom she split from in 2013 after three years together. But, she admits, “Yesterday” is a good proxy for what happened. “They say that your first love is forever. I believe that to be true. I feel like he was my first love, and I will always carry him so beautifully in my heart,” she says.

Perri told EW last year that when it came to crafting her new album, which follows 2011’s Lovestrong , she needed to make music that was as honest as possible. “I started out at busking on the streets of Philadelphia and I made a name for myself by being completely vulnerable and completely honest through songwriting,” she said. “So it just didn’t make sense after everything I went through [in 2013] to try and present myself as something other than myself.

Christina Perri’s cover of “Yesterday” is a great cover. I love the Beatles, but she really takes this song to another level in terms of emotional impact.

She has an amazing voice, and her version of “Yesterday” has a beautiful arrangement that really hits home. I can’t stop listening to it!

Of course, all covers are a hit-or-miss proposition: some are great, but most are not. But I’m confident in saying that this one is one of the best covers I’ve ever heard, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Christina Perri is a singer-songwriter (born August 19, 1986) from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Her debut album Lovestrong was released on May 10, 2011.

Her songs Jar of Hearts and Arms have been featured in television shows such as So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars. She also toured with Jason Mraz in 2011 and OneRepublic in 2012. As of 2013, she has sold more than 1 million albums worldwide.

Christina Perri released a cover version of Yesterday by The Beatles on July 26, 2016. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. The song was produced by Mike Viola.

The Beatles are the most covered band in history. Their music has been performed and adapted by artists of every conceivable genre, and there is no sign that this trend will stop anytime soon. The latest example of this is Christina Perri, a singer/songwriter who recently released an EP titled A Very Merry Perri Christmas.

Perri’s cover of the Beatles’ classic “Yesterday,” which was originally released in 1965 on the Help! album, has been receiving praise from critics and fans alike. The track features a stripped down sound with Perri accompanying herself on acoustic guitar while singing lead vocals. The song begins with a melancholy sound that seems to be inspired by the original, but as it progresses Perri’s vocals become more playful and joyful as she sings about being caught up in the holiday spirit.

The song has been described as an upbeat take on an old classic and fans who were hoping for something more along the lines of her previous hits such as “Jar of Hearts” or “Human” will likely be disappointed by this new single which lacks any real substance or emotion behind it. However, those looking for something different from what they normally hear on their radios during this time of year should give this track a

If you’ve ever seen Christina Perri live, then you know how powerful her voice is. Though she may have a soft and sweet disposition, the singer-songwriter can belt out a song with the best of them.

In this exclusive video, Perri performs an acoustic cover of The Beatles’ classic song “Yesterday” (originally written by Paul McCartney) at Capitol Studios in Hollywood. The stark performance puts Perri’s vocal prowess on display and will make fans of her music glad they’re along for the ride.

Perri is currently in the middle of a North American tour with her band and will wrap it up Nov. 5 in Detroit at The Fillmore. Tickets are still available here and you can get more information about tour stops and dates at Christina’s official website here.

Christina Perri has already proven her songwriting chops on her two albums, Lovestrong and Head or Heart. And that’s not even mentioning “Jar of Hearts,” which became a surprise hit for the Philadelphia native in 2010. That song was covered by both The Voice’s Christina Grimmie, who did a beautiful piano rendition, and American Idol alum Adam Lambert, who made it his own.

But now Perri is taking on a new challenge: covering the Beatles’ classic “Yesterday.” She brings her own twist to the song, slowing it down and adding some nice harmonies. She also throws in some impressive whistling.

Perri announced the cover on Instagram with a black-and-white photo of her at the piano. She wrote, “YESTERDAY! mccartney, your magic is mad.”

Christina Perri has once again covered a beloved Beatles classic. She’s performed it live, but this is her first studio recording of “Yesterday.” The song will be featured on an upcoming compilation album, Help! A Day in the Life, to benefit Doctors Without Borders.

In 2010, she released an EP of four Beatles covers as part of her Bluebird series. At the time, Perri said she was releasing the music because she’d been “obsessed with The Beatles since I was a little girl.”
