There are an array of street performers that start to come out in the warmer months, and you can find them on most days. From jugglers to clowns and even mime artists.
You’ll find them around Covent Garden and Soho, their timings are from 10am to 9pm daily.
Covent Garden is also known as a shoppers paradise, with many high street stores and independent boutiques, it’s the place to be if you want to browse the shops and take in some of the street performances.
Covent Garden is well known for their street performers, and the calibre of these performances is on a par with the West End. But, unlike the West End they don’t charge you £30 to watch them. You can go to Covent Garden at any time of year and there will be something amazing to see, or be a part of.
Of course, Covent Garden is not just about the street performers. It is also a shopping destination. You can find everything you need here, from high-end shops like Vivienne Westwood to affordable stores like H&M. So, if you are looking for that perfect gift or souvenir this is definitely the place to look.
Covent Garden is also known for its restaurants and cafes. With so many different options it’s hard to choose which one to eat at. From Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant, to Wagamama there really is something for everyone here.

Today, Covent Garden is home to over 100 street performers every day of the week. Some are well known artists who play at the biggest stages and arenas around the world and others are up-and-coming performers who are trying to make a name for themselves. So, next time you’re in the area, remember to keep your eyes peeled as you might discover something new!
Everyday from 11:00 – 14:00 we have a number of street performers throwing themselves around. They’re sure to wow you with their tricks and acrobatics. If you haven’t seen them before, make sure to check them out!
From 14:30 – 17:30 we bring you a mixture of singers, magicians and much more. The performers change frequently so make sure to keep checking back if there’s someone you wanted to see!
From 18:00 – 21:00 we have a selection of some of our best talent that really finish off your day right here in the centre of London. Our evening performances are much more varied than the daytime so come along and see what’s on offer!

“You can find a lot of street performers in the area, and you can see the best of the best there.” He said. “There’s a lot of talent on the streets, people who will soon be famous. But some don’t have the money to do that, so this is their way of trying to make it.”
I noticed that a lot of people were taking pictures and videos on their phones, and I asked him why that was.
“It’s because they are amazing! People like to take memories home with them, and if they get a good picture or video, it may go viral! These performers aren’t just here for money; they do it because they believe in themselves. They know that one day they will get there! I really admire all of them, they are dedicated to what they want to do with their life.”
For some people though, according to my source: “It’s a living for them. The more people watch them, the more money they get. They don’t care about being famous or making it big – all they worry about is how much money they can get at the end of each day.

What do you like best about performing at Covent Garden?
The atmosphere and the people that come here. The people of London are great, they make the place what it is.
What was the last thing you watched on TV?
I don’t have a television! Too many distractions.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
I wanted to be a doctor and a footballer, but I soon realised that I wouldn’t be very good at either of them! So, instead I decided to be a comedian and a musician.
How long have you been performing?
Since I was 12 years old. My first performance was in front of my immediate family and friends, at my uncle’s home in Spain. By the age of 16 I had started performing professionally as a juggler and magician, and then moved onto comedy after winning the British Young Comedian of the Year award in 2007.
What do you like best about performing to an audience?
The challenge of trying to make people laugh with different kinds of jokes, or even making people laugh when they don’t want to! It
Covent Garden is the perfect place to see a range of street performances. Each day, a wide variety of performers will take over the Piazza and surrounding areas to entertain you with their incredible talents.
You can expect to see anything from dancing to drumming, acrobatics to juggling, magic to music – it’s all part of the fun!
