London Street Art of Covent Garden is maintained by me, Matthew Criag. I am not a professional journalist or blogger but I do like to take photographs so I hope you enjoy them. At present there are no advertising banners on the site but that may change in the future as it becomes more popular and attracts more visitors.
This blog has been set up to promote street art in London, particularly around Covent Garden where I live. It will include images of pieces by some of the most famous street artists in the world such as Banksy, Ben Eine and Stik as well as lesser-known artists who may not have made it big yet but deserve recognition for their work.
The aim is to provide an online gallery for people looking for information about street art as well as a place where they can share their own photos with others interested

We are a group of artists with a passion for creating art in the streets of London. Our group has been active for about two years now, but recently we’ve been doing a lot more work around Covent Garden, and so now we have decided to create this blog to show off our work.
Our group has about 15 members at the moment. All of us have had some experience with graffiti, but none of us are professionals. We are mostly students who do this as a hobby. We do not get paid for our work; it’s just something we enjoy doing!
It all started in 2009 when the first Covent Garden street artists hit the streets. Today this group has grown to more than 500 members. With the help of their sponsors, they have been able to expand and develop their services to include many different cities throughout London.
A Covent Garden street artist is an individual who goes out into the streets at night and performs creative acts for people who are walking by. What sets these people apart from other street artists is that they have no formal training in any form of art or performance. It is not uncommon for many of them to be homeless.
The first thing that you will see when you start looking for Covent Garden street artists is their amazing costumes and props. They use everything from bicycles, posters and signs, to paint sprayers, balloons and banners to create a unique look. Some of them also use music as a means of communicating with the audience. This makes it very interesting to watch them as they perform as it gives you a glimpse into how they are able to convey their message through music and dance.
This blog is about Street Art, Graffiti, Stickers and Paste-ups from Covent Garden and the surrounding areas of London.
Posts will be updated regularly when new artworks appear on the streets of London. Feel free to comment on any of the posts.
If you are a street artist and would like to have your work featured on this blog please feel free to contact me through the comments section or my email address: londonstreetartblog@gmail.com.
