Main Street Performing Arts Center (MSPAC) was created as a non-profit organization in 1996. Led by a determined group of local citizens, MSPAC worked with the City of Valdese and Burke County to renovate the historic Valdese Elementary School on Main Street in Valdese, NC. The school had been closed for more than 10 years at that time.

The building’s theater had once been used for school assemblies until the school system built a new gymnasium across town in the late 1960s. The theater was then used for art classes into the early 1990s.

The Main Street Performing Arts Center (MSPAC) is a community and entertainment venue located in the center of Main Street, USA. The building opened on June 19, 2014, as part of the New Fantasyland expansion. The Center features a variety of programs and events for guests to experience at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park.

The MSPAC is styled after a large barn, complete with a straw roof. The exterior walls are painted white with red trim and decorated with flower pots and window shutters. The structure also has two brick chimneys rising from the roof, one of which is actually a smokestack for the funhouse within. The barn’s front doors open up to a large stage curtain with the words “Main Street Opera House” written across it. Behind this curtain is a large hall with various walkthrough exhibits and theaters.

The MSPAC is home to an attraction called “Enchanted Tales with Belle,” an interactive retelling of Beauty and the Beast from Belle’s point of view. Guests will join Belle in her father’s cottage and relive classic moments from the film along with some new characters created especially for this attraction. In addition to this attraction, the MSPAC is also home to several live stage shows performed throughout
