Must-Watch Acoustic Busker Videos

In the past couple of years, I’ve posted a handful of awesome busker videos on Open Culture. But I don’t think any of them can quite compare to this nice little collection from Vimeo user Chris Connolly. He’s put together five must-watch videos—one featuring a tremendous trio with an interesting backstory.

The first video features a musical group called Bello & Friends, who came together after competing against each other for years on the NYC subway as solo performers. In 2011, they joined forces and began playing together as a group. Their performance below is from their debut at Battery Park in NYC in April of that year.

The second video features Joseph Arthur playing “In the Sun” on the streets of Amsterdam in 2007. The third is a live performance by the band Bowerbirds, who sound great wherever they play: at home or on the street. Here they are performing “Tuck The Darkness In” in New York City in 2008.

The fourth video shows John Butler Trio performing “Ocean” at Circular Quay, Sydney Harbour, Australia, in February 2006. (Note: we also posted some videos of John Butler Trio back when they were known as Microw

The cost of living in Ireland is quite high, so we’ve been busking for about a year and a half now. We’ve made some videos that we think are pretty cool – even if we do say so ourselves!

“We’re three friends from Cork who came together to form a band and play music professionally. We’ve been playing together for about six months now, but we all decided to get our own instruments and start writing songs before that.”

Three friends, who lived across the street from each other, Michael Szlosek, Kasey Fiske and Ben O’Neill grew up together in a small town called Groton, MA. After high school they all moved to Boston where they started their music careers. In 2009 they joined forces and began playing as a trio on the streets of Boston. Now known as The Ballroom Thieves, the band has just released their first full length album titled “A Wolf In The Doorway” which was produced by legendary producer Paul Kolderie (Radiohead, Hole, Pixies).

They have shared the stage with artists like The Avett Brothers, Lake Street Dive and Josh Ritter. They are currently touring the east coast on their first ever headlining tour in support of their new album.

The three friends had busked together for a while before they were joined by the bassist. At first they were skeptical of his playing, but they soon realized how much depth he added to their songs. They began to play live music venues around the city and eventually gained national exposure.

The film is primarily focused on the band’s success, but it also includes a few interesting moments in which the musicians discuss their careers and the struggles that come with being in a band. It is fairly short, but it has some great shots of the musicians performing live with a small audience and some good interviews with the band members.

Amazing Buskers is the brainchild of 3 friends who travel the world & make a living playing music on the streets.

The idea is to show a glimpse into the lives of these musicians and how they survive off their talents. These guys have a passion for what they do and they love meeting new people as they travel. The stories are inspired by real life events that will inspire you and make you laugh out loud. They are told in such a way that anyone can understand them, regardless of your musical background.

Now, let’s move from the street to the metro stations. In Kiev, Kyiv in Ukraine some real friends play together, and they have a special story behind them. These talented artists are called The Maneken and they’ve been traveling and playing together for more than 10 years.

And even though it’s hard to find any information about them, we can assume that these guys are not beggars at all. They come from a wealthy family and that explains their expensive instruments. So why do they play in the subway? Maybe because of the high traffic or maybe because they like to spread the joy with everyone around them. But one thing is sure; this band has a lot of talent!

A busker is a person who performs in public places for tips. This can include people singing, dancing, comedians, jugglers, or other types of musicians. Busking is often done in busy public places such as public transport routes, city centers, or in tourist areas. Busking is usually considered a form of art and entertainment.

Busking was established in England by the Middle Ages and has been popular ever since. It is also practiced around the world. The term “busking” is probably from the Spanish root word “buscar”, which means “to seek”.
