Quentin Slade is a professional singer who loves to surprise strangers in the most creative way. He sings for them, as a busker would, but he does not sing any song. He does not even sing songs from his favorite bands. He sings songs from other people’s favorites.
Recently he has been performing one of the Billboard Hot 100 hits on the freeway. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, he was seen singing Adele’s “Hello”, on the shoulder of the road at a high traffic hour. However, unlike traditional buskers who are there to earn money from commuters and travelers, Quentin had something else in mind: to surprise strangers who were listening to him.
Passing cars stopped at the nearest gas station to see what was going on and some drivers even joined in singing along with him. The video has since gone viral, gaining more than 5 million views and many comments from fans around the world.
“I was having a rough day and it made my day,” youtuber Nathaniel Rivera commented on his facebook post. “It made me want to go out there and do something kind for someone,” youtuber Heather Olson added in another comment.

Everyone who drives the 101 freeway in Los Angeles has felt the same way at least once.
Traffic is moving slowly, and you’re bored silly. You want to do something fun, but you don’t want to get caught up in a fender bender that will make things worse.
That’s what happened to YouTube singer Alex Boye when he was stuck in traffic one day. He decided to brighten up his boring commute by singing a song from the Billboard Top 100 on a microphone while standing on top of his SUV.
He told BuzzFeed: “I was just sitting there thinking, ‘I’m in this beautiful sports car … I feel like doing something performance-wise.’ And I thought, ‘If anything, people could use a little pick-me-up.'”
Boye didn’t expect anyone to pay attention until he saw one person recording him and showing it to the person next to him. Then he saw another camera pointed at him. Before long there were about 20 people filming.
When traffic started flowing again, he jumped back into his car and drove away, leaving a group of surprised commuters with some nice entertainment on their otherwise unpleasant trip home from work.
We all grew up listening to the lyrics of our favorite songs. We often think we know everything about it, but what if I told you that a popular Billboard song is actually about an impressive busker?
On the streets of New York City, there is a talented musician named Josh who has become extremely popular for his own renditions of well-known Billboard songs. His goal is always to surprise strangers on the street with these unique performances. One day he decided to surprise a group of random people with a rendition of “Hotel California” by the Eagles. It was something nobody had ever heard before:
This performance was amazing, and I’m sure Josh’s voice surprised more than just those people on that street corner!

If you stood on a freeway exit ramp with a guitar case open at your feet and sang your favorite song, what would you expect to get in return?
Not much, right?
But John Newman did just that. He picked a freeway offramp in downtown LA and chose the chart-topping anthem “Love Me Again” as his song du jour. The result? Hundreds of dollars worth of donations from passing motorists!
The British singer/songwriter was in town to promote his hit single, which has gone platinum in several countries. But he didn’t want to do the usual radio tour or make appearances on television shows. So he opted for something different; a spontaneous performance on the street.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Newman said: “The idea came about because I wanted something where people could be surprised and there could be some kind of interaction and I could meet some people. It’s always nice to have some kind of real connection with what you’re doing.”
Newman’s team had contacted local buskers for advice before setting up their guerilla performance on the street. Those who’d played on the same corner as Newman gave him tips about which songs worked best and how much money passersby typically dropped into open guitar cases. Then
Whether you’re a fan of Shawn Mendes or not, give him props for his creativity. The Canadian singer recently surprised fans by performing his Billboard Hot 100 song “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” at a bus stop in Los Angeles.
“We decided to do something really special for you guys,” he says in the clip. “I’m gonna go sing…on the side of the freeway.”
Mendes then goes on to perform an impromptu version of his upbeat tune with a street band at the bus stop. He has no backup dancers or flashy light show, but that didn’t seem to matter to the crowd who gathered around him.
“He’s like our age, so it’s really cool that he did that,” one fan says in the video. “He’s just like us and he’s singing for us right now.”
The singer announced earlier this year that he would be going on tour in 2018, so maybe he was simply testing out new material? Either way, it seems like Mendes is just as much of a fan favorite as he is a hitmaker.
You never know what you’ll see on the highway at rush hour, but one driver thought he was seeing things when he saw a busker on the freeway.
But that’s exactly what happened in London. A guy was singing along to Passenger’s “Let Her Go” and it was all caught on his dashboard camera.
He even got a thumbs up from a passing driver.
Talk about street cred!
He’s a singer, songwriter and busker. He is also the guy who had a Billboard
