This blog is about street performers, the good and the bad of them. Street performers are artists who perform in public spaces for voluntary donations.
Some people think that street performers are a nuisance and should be banned from public spaces. Others think that street performers add to the culture of a place. And yet others think that street performers are a way for homeless people to earn money.
I personally think all of those are both true and false, depending on the situation. Let me explain what I mean by this.
I am going to explain why street performers can be a nuisance, why city planners should encourage street performers (if they do it right), and why there is such a large number of homeless people who become street performers.
We’ve all seen them, and some of us have even been them: street performers. From the wonderful to the terrible; from the talented to the bizarre, there’s a lot out there on the streets. Here are a few things you should know about buskers.
The Good
Street performers can be quite impressive. We’ve seen some great acts in our time, and we’re happy to see that busking is alive and well. There are usually many street performers in any given area, so it can be quite a show if you go for it! Street performing is great for someone who has talent and wants to get noticed, but isn’t ready for a record deal yet.
Many street performers are actually pretty good! They often have a unique angle on an old standard, or they may have something completely new and incredible to show you. These performers give hope to those who want to make it big as a musician or performer in general. They practice on the streets, perfecting their craft before moving on to bigger things. And if they do get famous? Well, they’ll always remember their roots–and they’ll always pay it forward by lending advice and support to young up-and-comers looking for their big break.
Street performers are an important part of any city. They bring culture and entertainment to the streets, and can provide a unique and fun experience for both parents and children alike. However, street performers are not always a good thing. In fact, they can often cause more problems than they solve.
Here are some pros:
1 They bring culture and entertainment to the streets.
2 They provide a unique and fun experience for both parents and children alike.
3 If you’re in the right place at the right time, you can meet some amazing people!
4 You never know who’s going to come along next!
5 Many street performers are very talented musicians or artists who would otherwise go unnoticed by society.
And, here are some cons:
1 They can be loud and distracting if you’re trying to get work done at home or in a public place like an airport terminal or café.
2 Some street performers have been known to harass passersby for money or food (this is known as “begging”).
3 Many of these performers have mental health issues that may make them dangerous to themselves or others around them (this includes vagrants who sleep on sidewalks all
As a street performer, you are performing for the general public. In order to make money, it is important to be responsive and open to the public’s requests. There are many pros and cons about being a street performer that you should be aware of prior to starting.
Pros:
You can make a lot of money on a good day, especially if you are in a metropolitan city. Make sure to carry around a tip jar; people will throw in money after they see your performance. You can make hundreds of dollars in one day.
You get to pick your own schedule. If it’s raining or snowing outside and you don’t want to go perform, then don’t! You can take days off when you feel like it, making this a perfect job for students or those with flexible schedules.
Cons:
It’s very tiring and stressful. You will have to put up with grumpy customers and people who refuse to pay you because they don’t believe that you deserve their money. Street performers must also deal with unfriendly weather conditions such as rain or snow; they also have to deal with extreme heat which can be very uncomfortable when performing outside in the sun.
You need some musical talent! If not, then becoming a street performer may
We all love when the weather is warm enough to bring the street performers out. Whether it is a juggler, unicyclist, musician or something more exotic that brings you to a stand still we have all been there. But what happens when these performers are not so entertaining?
At times we have been enjoying our walk down the street and come across a performer that doesn’t quite make us want to stop and watch. This can be frustrating when they take up a whole sidewalk and you have no other option but to stop and stare at them in hopes that they will be done soon so you can continue on your way.
In addition to this, there are other circumstances in which we may find ourselves less than thrilled about stopping for a performer. In the summer months we often see fire dancers. These dancers seem very interesting at first, but after watching one for an hour, the novelty wears off and you just want to get home. And who hasn’t stopped for an ice cream man who turns out to be selling terrible knockoffs of Snickers bars?
Street performers are a constant source of entertainment and amusement in large cities. But how much do you know about the history behind these performers? Many people don’t realize that street performing is a lot more than just a hobby. Street performing has been a part of culture since ancient times and has evolved into what we see today, with performances ranging from fire breathing to acrobatics.
In the U.S., street performing has become so popular that there are entire festivals dedicated to it, such as the New Orleans Jazz Festival, and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. Here at Surprise Street Performers, we will explore the best street performers from the U.S. and abroad, as well as provide tips for becoming one yourself!
Street performing is a great way to earn money, but it can also be a stressful job. It’s important to know what you’re getting into before you decide to play in the streets full time.
I’ve been playing in the streets for about 10 years now. I started back when I was in college, and I haven’t stopped since. I’m currently on tour in Europe, where street music is more popular than ever.
Street performers are typically divided into two categories: buskers and street musicians. Buskers typically perform visual or comedic acts for an audience; street musicians perform music for an audience, usually with some sort of instrument.
Busking is often associated with poverty, but it has become a thriving industry in many parts of the world. More than just a way to make money, busking can be seen as a creative outlet and source of pride for performers.
