Covent Garden is known for its street performers. Performing in the public places without a permit, these performers entertain the crowd that visits this place round the clock. The area has been famous for these performers since 19th century and continues to attract huge crowds who come to see their performances.
The buskers perform in different styles such as juggling, mime, dance and music to entertain the visitors. As per the rules laid down by the local authorities of London, the performers are not allowed to ask visitors for money or sell anything during their performance. However, they can accept voluntary donations after the performance gets over.
The Covent Garden has emerged as one of the favorite hangouts of artists and musicians from across Europe who like to showcase their talent here. Usually, you can find around 25 street performers in this area on any given day. These street performers hold a strong belief that art should be accessible to all and so they do not charge any fee for their performance. Hence, if you feel these artists deserve a reward for their performances then make sure you give them some money as a donation.
