If you are lucky enough to come across a talented street musician, you might wonder how they managed to reach such a high standard of performance. Some of these buskers have become so good that they have even found themselves being offered record deals. Here are 4 of the best guitarists that you can find on the streets of the world.
David Arthur Brown
Brown has been described as one of the most popular street musicians in New York City. He is a singer and a songwriter who performs with his guitar for hours at a time in order to earn money for food and accommodation. The music that he plays is so good that it often leads to crowds forming around him as he strums his guitar and sings. If you ever find yourself in NYC, you should definitely go and see this guy perform.
Daniel Martinez
Martinez is another talented guitarist who plays on the streets of New York City. When he was 18 years old, he decided to drop out of high school and pursue a career in music. His busking performances have led to him being noticed by the media, and he has even appeared on the Ellen Show which has helped him build up quite a following.
Jose Vela Gonzalez
Gonzalez has been playing on the streets of Madrid since 1992 when
The man begins playing his guitar, and you look over. You see him there, the music barely escaping his lips as the sun sets behind him. In that moment, you wish to know more about this man of mystery. The busker with a guitar from around the world is a common sight, but how many can you truly call a master?
A true master of the art of busking is not only an amazing guitarist, but also an entertainer who can draw in listeners from across the street or park. They are masters of their craft, and their guitars are their instruments of choice when it comes to making music on the streets.
Here are 4 types of world-class guitarists that can be found anywhere:
The Legendary Busker – This type of guitarist is a legend in their own right. They are known throughout their city for their amazing skills and unique sound. The Legendary Busker will amaze you with their ability to play any song they have ever heard before!
The Street Performer – This type of guitarist is an expert at performing in front of large groups of people without missing a beat! Their musical talent is undeniable, but they also have great stage presence which adds another level to any performance they give. Even if they don’t know all
I have been writing a lot of articles about buskers, but they were all usually focused on one city or country. Now, I decided to do something different. Instead of writing about one specific city or country, I decided to write about the best guitarists that can be found around the world.
I have spent a lot of time traveling around the world and I have seen many different types of musicians. Some are really good, some are really bad and some are just average. But there are few that really stand out from the crowd.
These 4 types of guitarists can be found all over the world. They play different music styles and use different techniques, but they all have one thing in common: they are very good at what they do.
1) The Classical Guitarist
This is probably the most common type of guitarist you will see on the streets. They usually play Spanish music like flamenco or classical pieces from famous composers such as Bach or Mozart.
2) The Rock Guitarist
This type of guitarist is also very popular among street musicians. You will probably hear them playing songs from famous rock bands such as AC/DC or Led Zeppelin. Some of them even play their own songs!
3) The Jazz Guitarist
Buskers are the rock stars of the streets. They work hard and practice, whether before or during their performances, to give us, their audience, an experience we appreciate.
You can find buskers in cities all over the world. London and New York are two of the most popular cities for street musicians, but you can find them in many other cities as well.
Several years ago I went to New York on vacation and had the opportunity to spend time with someone who lives there. On our way around Manhattan she showed me a few of her favorite places to listen to street musicians play. There were four types of guitarists that stuck out in my mind for one reason or another:
The first was a young guy who played classical music from memory in Battery Park and Washington Square Park. He always wore a suit and sounded like he was playing from a concert hall instead of outside on grassy patches of land.
The second was a middle-aged man who played at Columbus Circle and Union Square Park while his wife collected donations from passersby. He had long hair (and not just because he was old) and looked homeless to me, but he knew how to play the guitar and sing like no one else could!
If you have walked down the streets of London, Boston, or Rome in the past few years, you likely heard a very talented guitarist playing. These guitarists are not just talented; they are so good that they make people stop and listen to their music. The best ones will make you want to sit and enjoy the performance for a while. One of the best things about these guitarists is that they are happy to share their music with anyone who will listen. Here are some of the best street musicians that can be found anywhere in the world:
In London, there is one guitarist who plays classical music on his guitar while he plays other songs on his harmonica. He is known as “The London Street Guitarist”. He has an amazing ability to play many different musical styles and can play many different types of songs at once. You may hear him playing songs by Bach or Beethoven, or you could hear him playing a song that he has written himself.
Another great guitarist is a man named Tom Waits. He has been performing for over 25 years and still enjoys playing for people on the street. His guitar playing style is very unique; it sounds like he is playing from inside his head rather than from his hands or mouth. His music can only be
1. The One Man Band
A one-man band is a musician who plays a number of instruments simultaneously using their hands, feet, limbs, and various mechanical or electronic contraptions. He or she may play musical instruments simultaneously, or trigger several different sampling instruments via MIDI sequencer. Typically the main instruments are guitar and/or drums, with other accompanying instruments such as keyboard, harmonica, bass and cymbals which are played using the feet.
2. The Percussionist
Percussionists also known as drummers are also popular buskers on the streets as they can play a variety of different styles from Latin to jazz to hip hop and anything that has to do with beats. Several street performers use congas, bongos and djembes for their performances because of their portability and sound quality. In addition to that these kinds of drums are very easy to learn because most of them only have one head unlike other more complex types of drums.
3. The Flamenco Guitarist
Flamenco Buskers can be found in Spain especially in Spain’s Andalusian Region where flamenco music originated. They usually perform in front of cafes and restaurants where people can eat while watching them perform. Flamenco Buskers
The first type is the ‘noodler’. This guitarist is usually found in highly populated areas and their guitar sound is so faint that people must stand a mere foot or two from them to hear anything at all. Their guitar playing sounds like a cat on fire.
The second type is the ‘wanker’. They can usually be heard from several blocks away and are usually strumming some horrible power chord sequence over and over again, hoping to annoy you into dropping some cash in their case.
The third type of guitarist is the ‘one-trick pony’. Somehow this guy has learned one riff (probably Dokken) and plays it over and over again, perhaps even chugging along with a metronome.
And finally we have the fourth type, the ‘performer’. This guy has talent that can be heard from across the street, but he’s not out there playing just to make money. He’s an artist who happens to be playing on the street because he enjoys it.
I was lucky enough to find one such performer while walking through downtown San Francisco last year. I could hear him before I could see him, but my ears certainly weren’t complaining. The performer was Don Alder.
