Why Did You Choose a Drama Major? Eight answers from students from main street performing arts center.

1. By: I love acting, I love the things that I learn in acting and directing classes. Also, the people in this major are generally very kind.

2. By: I want to be an actress so it is a good way for me to get my feet wet and learn about all of the aspects of theater arts and communication.

This is a question I’ve been asked a lot, and there’s no one answer that I think is the best. Every student has a different reason for choosing this major, and this article will showcase eight answers from students from Main Street Performing Arts Center.

I am a theatre major because it combines many things that I love to do. Theatre isn’t just about acting; it also requires technical work, which includes designing and building sets as well as costuming them.

I like to act on stage because it allows me to be someone else for a while. I also like to be behind the scenes creating something that the audience sees but doesn’t know how you made it happen.

Theatre is something I have done since I was little, and so it only makes sense that I would study theatre in college. This program provides me with the opportunity to practice and learn as much as possible before graduating in May 2015!

I chose a drama major because I love acting. I also love being on stage and performing for people. Acting has always been a passion of mine and my dream is to be an actress one day.

I chose a drama major because it’s fun and a great outlet for all of my creative energy.

I am doing a Drama Major because it is the most open and broad subject in theater, you can do anything with this degree.

I chose to do a Drama Major because I really enjoy performing and being on stage, as well as being able to create new characters and stories along the way.

I chose to major in Drama because it allows me to explore new ways of thinking, while creating new characters and exploring new ideas that may not be possible in real life.

1. “I think the main reason I chose a drama major is because it’s what I’ve always wanted to do. As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been interested in theatre and the arts. Now, with my degree, I can turn that interest into a career.”

6. What I like most about being an art major is that I get to use my creativity every day, whether it’s painting or drawing or creating music; it’s nice not to have to follow strict rules all the time and let loose with my imagination!

7. My favorite part about studying art is how much fun it is! It’s not just something that I do, but it has become something that I am passionate about, and can’t

(3) The whole process really fascinates me: being able to go into character, getting into someone’s mind and psyche and then having the audience right there with you. (5) It is such a fun thing to do, when you are in a performance you are living life through someone else’s eyes. (6) For most people, they have one shot at college and it is important that you choose something that you know will bring happiness no matter what else happens in your life. (7) You’re told over and over again that there are few jobs in it these days. But I took this major for myself because it was something I loved doing and was good at, not for the paycheck. (8) I took theater because I wanted a career where my job is to make people happy by taking them out of their reality for a couple of hours.

7. Because of the “many facets” of the major – we’re not just actors, we are also directors and designers, which makes us more valuable to the theatre community after graduation than “just” an actor would be.

8. This was a question asked of me by my best friend’s father who has spent his life doing theatre professionally as an actor and director and I replied with: “Because if there was anything else that made me feel the way that acting does, I would have chosen it.”
