We know our students love to play guitar, but it’s also a pleasure to see their hard work pay-off. Congratulations to Guitar Buskers student of the month, Mark!

Mark came to us wanting to learn how to play the guitar. He had a few songs he wanted to learn, and he quickly mastered them. But he wasn’t stopping there, he wanted to be able to write his own songs and actually play like Mick Jagger. Who could blame him?

We were able to help Mark achieve his goals by customizing his lessons, practicing with him until he was ready for more advanced lessons and even giving him our best advice on how to practice at home. It was a lot of work for both of us but we were able to help him achieve his dreams, and that’s what makes our teachers the best in town.

We greatly appreciate all of our students, but this month we want to take a moment to recognize some of our best. These students are the ones that not only push themselves to be better at every lesson, but also inspire their peers and help them to become better students and people. Although many of the students at Guitar Buskers could be recognized here, we want to acknowledge a few of the students who have really gone above and beyond.

First up is John Gordon. John was nominated by one of his teachers for always having a smile on his face. He works very hard in his lessons and practice time, but he also makes sure to have fun with it. He’s always willing to try new things, even if he thinks he might fail. His teacher said that she can’t wait for her lessons with John because she knows he’ll always come up with something new that surprises her.

Second, we have Rachel Smith. Rachel has been coming to Guitar Buskers for about 5 months now, but you wouldn’t know it from hearing her play. She has improved so much in such a short time that all of her teachers are completely amazed at how fast she’s picking things up. She always comes into her lessons prepared and excited to show off what she has learned since last

The Guitar Buskers students are the best. The parents of our students have given us a 5-star rating on Yelp, Facebook, and Google. We offer guitar lessons on the weekends which is perfect for kids and busy adults.

We are proud that we have taught over 1,000 students since our inception in 2014. We have seen it all, so please don’t hesitate to ask us questions about how to get started with the guitar.

Because we teach at local public schools, we are the most convenient teachers around! Check out our schedule here: Guitar Buskers Schedule

We love helping people learn to play music because it is fun and it will change your life.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Student of the Month is: What makes a good student?

I have been a teacher at Guitar Buskers for over 12 years and taught hundreds of students. Some students practice a lot, some less. Some are enthusiastic, others not so much.

At Guitar Buskers, we felt we should reward our best students, those who are most likely to succeed in playing the guitar by themselves. In order to do this, we created the “Student of the Month” award.

To become Student of the Month all you need to do is pass your test with 90% or above. That’s it! It’s that simple! But what does it take to perform so well in your test? Here are 3 tips that will help you achieve that goal.

When we first met, I was a raw-boned kid with a guitar, you were a rising star in the Toronto music scene. We both had our demos on cassette tapes, and we would play them for each other to get feedback. You told me that my songs gave you chills.

It’s been over 15 years since I sat in your classes at Guitar Buskers, and over 10 since I was part of the original Toronto summer session. But even though it has been many years since then, I still remember every thing you taught me.

I remember when I first started your class, I was so scared and nervous. I thought that you would be mean to me because I was such an awful player. But you said: “hey kid, it’s just me…I will teach you everything that I know about music”.

You were like a second father to me. You helped me through so many challenges in my life…and you showed me how to be strong and face challenges head on. You taught me how important it is to be kind to others…and to always do your best…even when things seem hard or impossible.

You taught me the power of holding onto hope…and never giving up on my dreams…no matter what people

Students are chosen based on how well they learn guitar, how well they listen to their teacher and how fast they progress.

We love to see students grow in guitar playing skills and we are happy to reward them with a trophy and a certificate.

They can proudly display this in their bedroom or in the living room.

Our intention is to motivate them to continue learning and improving in the guitar with us.

A student of the month is an honor that only a select few get to have. These students are good at what they do and are very hard working. They always put in their best effort on each assignment so that they can turn in quality work. These students are good at math, reading and writing. They show great character by being honest and trustworthy. Some traits these students exhibit is hard work, honesty and trustworthiness, good character, and excellent skills.
