Singer’s Surprised by Buskers With Beautiful Rendition Of Their Song [Watch]

A blog about two charities who teamed up in order to create a viral video.

They set up a hidden camera in the subway and waited for unsuspecting musicians to perform, then surprised them with their own version of what they had just played.

100,000 Minutes is a U.K.-based charity that aims to raise awareness of mental health issues. In order to do so, they decided to play with people’s emotions, literally. They teamed up with Get Connected, a charity that helps youths with their problems, and set up a hidden camera in the subway and waited for unsuspecting musicians to perform. Then they surprised them with their own version of what they had just played.

The result? A lot of happy tears and more than 1 million views on YouTube. Watch the video above to see all of the reactions (and performances).

It’s always a little nerve-racking when you’re singing your own song in front of an audience. What if they don’t like it? What if they recognize you and think you sound terrible? But when you’re busking in the street and singing is more of something you do to make a few bucks, there’s less at stake. Or so you’d think.

In this video, posted by The Huffington Post on Monday, members of the band Hudson Taylor are shown performing their song “Care” (which we highly recommend listening to) in Dublin for charity when a group of buskers come up to them and start playing along. It’s not until the last verse that anyone notices that the buskers are actually singing harmony with them!

The stunt was pulled off by the Irish charities Focus Ireland and Simon Community, who teamed up with Hudson Taylor to raise money for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in Ireland. At the end of the video, Hudson Taylor explain why they decided to participate, and we dare you not to

Two charities have teamed up to create a viral video that could change the way people think about busking.

The Big Issue Foundation and Street Support Network asked British singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan to surprise a group of homeless musicians with a rendition of her song “Lighthouse” on the streets of London.

The result is deeply moving and has gone viral: at time of writing, it has been viewed almost 4 million times on YouTube.

“I didn’t expect it at all … I was really shocked,” says Matthew Smith in the video, who plays guitar for the band The Beggars. “It was awesome.”

The charity plans to set up its own version of Busk In London, which aims to provide a platform for amateur street artists.

When two charities joined forces to create a viral video, they had no idea that it would go so far as to surprise the original song’s creators.

SOS Children’s Villages and Singing for Change came together in an effort to raise money for children in Bangladesh, and their combined efforts led them to recently busk in New York City armed only with a guitar and their amazing voices.

One of the singers, Peter Hollens, explained that they chose to sing “Let It Go” from Disney’s “Frozen” because it is “a song that gives us all hope.”

In the video, singers can be seen performing outside of The Today Show when suddenly two women come out of the studio and join them to sing along. The women are Idina Menzel and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the original artists behind “Let It Go.”

The two were on the show to promote their upcoming movie “Ralph Breaks The Internet,” but they both stopped by on their way out to sing with the buskers. Menzel even hugged one of the performers at one point during the song.

Two charities have teamed up to create what could be the most heartwarming video of 2015.

The video, created by the charities Street Child and The Choir With No Name, focuses on a group of homeless singers who are busking on the streets in London.

As they sing a rendition of “Make You Feel My Love,” a group of well-dressed people walk past the singers and continue on their way, seemingly ignoring them.

But then, as if out of nowhere, a familiar voice begins to join in with the buskers. It’s Bob Dylan, who wrote “Make You Feel My Love,” which has been sung by many artists including Adele.

Then another singer joins in, followed by another and another. Eventually dozens of artists join the buskers, creating an amazing ensemble that left us feeling pretty emotional.

And just when you think it can’t get any better, Adele herself appears and sings with the street singers.

If you’ve ever been to Dublin, Ireland, you know they have some stellar buskers. But even amongst all the talented street performers in the city, there’s always a surprise every now and then.

Bruised Orange Films teamed up with the Irish charity ALONE to find two amazing singers in Dublin and have them perform for people on Grafton Street. The duo sang a cover of “Say Something” by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera, and their performance is sure to give you chills.

The video has gone viral since it was posted on Nov. 10, with over 4 million views on YouTube alone. According to The Huffington Post, the video was made as part of ALONE’s annual fundraising campaign called “Share The Warmth.” The charity works to get elderly people involved with their community and so they partnered with volunteer organization Volunteer Ireland to make this video possible.
